When I first heard about the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, I thought the swim portion was absolutely insane and anyone who swam it was nuts. It's funny how things can change. One of my biggest fears in life is now one of my most incredible joys. This race (especially the swim) is truly the funnest, yet most challenging triathlon's, I've ever competed in. Below is my journal on the incredible experience. This year's race is on Sunday, June 10th, 2012.

Some pics of 2010 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon
I still have yet to write a summary of my great experience with the race but I want to be able to sit with no distractions when I'm doing it. In the interim, here are some great snaps that I pulled from a couple of online sites. I do not take credits for any of the snaps. Thanks to the great photographers who snapped these!

I did it!!
The race was yesterday and it was awesome. The weather could not have been more perfect. And I got a personal best of 3:20:01, beating the previous to years by 20 and 10 minutes. I'll write more later, as I just got back to Seattle and am a bit exhausted.
My cousin Kristen and future cousin Ashley did incredible jobs. This was their first triathlon and they almost blew the sharks out of the water w/ their incredible performances.
